John 10:10, kjv says, “the thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill and destroy; I come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
God wants us to come to a place of rest and peace, hope, and joy with Him. He offers us LIFE! In Him we live and move and have our being ( Acts 17:28)
My life flows continually with the goodness of God. His goodness and mercy follows me all the days of my life (Psalm 23:6) and I continue in that life.
I am reminded of an incident one day when I was on my patio watering my plants. I was using a hose that was connected to the faucet. I had the faucet turned on as high as it would turn on so the pressure of the water could reach where I needed it to spray. The faucet was at one side of the my house and I was spraying towards the back of my house. There was a distance between the faucet and where I was spraying. Suddenly the water supply stops. I walked back to the faucet which was my source of water supply and began checking for signs of interruption; what was stopping the flow on my end? The faucet was till turned on and flowing with water, my hose was still connected to the source of the water supply, but as I followed the hose I noticed a “kink” in the hose. It had gotten wrapped up, tangled up is a better word, and the water flow had been stopped by the entanglement. The tangled hose had the flow of the water still flowing form the source (the faucet) but it was so tightly tangled I had to undo it so that the water could flow easily; I had to straighten out what was blocking my flow. Galatians 5:1 kjv, says Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hat made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. To stand fast means – refuse to abandon one’s opinion or belief. I stand fast in the liberty or freedom where Christ has made me free, AND I will not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Sometimes in our Christian walk with Christ we may feel our source of supply has been turned off. He is our source and supply and the flow comes without interruption, but on our end we need to see if the connection is tight, see if we have tangled up the world’s way of doing things. We perish for lack of knowledge. We can only believe in faith with the amount of work that prevails in us. God said – I will never leave you nor forsake you! (Hebrews 13:5) Sometimes we can be flowing in the Spirit and walking in Jesus (as far as we know) THEN there seems to be a kink in our life. The definition of a kink is a sharp twist or curve in something that is otherwise straight.
Galatians 2:20, amp, I have been crucified with Christ (that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion): it is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me. The life I now live is in the body: I live by faith (by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting) in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Notice the scripture above: the word adhere to, means to stick to, hold fast like glue, fusing (cleaving, clinging, becoming closely attached). In my own words we need to have duck tape faith!!! I am sticking to Jesus and He is sticking to me!! And if anyone has used duck tape you know that it is extremely hard to pull away from what it is attached to; I live by faith. I am adhering to, trusting and relying on the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. Gal. 2:20
My life now that I am a Christian is to live by faith by relying on and completely trusting and adhering to the Son of God. When there is a sharp twist or curve that shows up in my life that is otherwise straight I just go back to my source of supply, God Almighty, and begin to focus on where is this kink. My supply is still flowing, the connection is still secure. And it really does not matter so much how or where the flow is hindered it matters that I get it straightened out, and as quickly as possible. I need to continue with the calling on my life. I need to be able to listen to the voice of God leading and directing my footsteps. The anointing can not be hindered.
Luke 18:8, amp. When the Son of Man comes will He find this kind of persistent faith on earth? The flow of the Spirit of God has to be continued in me, and in us. Continue – a course or action that lasts or extends without interruption. My faith, my trust and reliance on Jesus has to be flowing continually. I do not stop, I do not give up or turn back.
Remember this scripture: Luke 9:62 “No one having put his hand to the plow and looking back si fit for the kingdom of God”.
