Our Journey Together
Our posts will touch on many topics. We are very informal and casual. So our style will be as if we are talking to each other.
Not of this World – submitted by Rebecca Goodell
Colossians 1:13 For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His dear Son.
Colossians 3:2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth..
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your heart. For as members of one body your are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
Colossians 3:23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people
I Thessalonians 5:16-18 Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:1-9, 14- 2 Timothy 4:1-5 “Dangers of the Last Days” – You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires. (Such women are forever following new teachings, but are never able to understand the truth.) these teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith, But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres. .But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true….All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.,,,, God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work………… For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News and fully carry out the ministry of God has given you.
Mysterious Ways – submitted by Rebecca Goodell
We have all heard the phrase ” God works in mysterious ways.” In the natural we are limited in our ability to see how or why certain things happen or circumstances arise. But in the spiritual realm, God’s realm, He allows, observes and directs.
Romans 8:28 NIV And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him; who have been called according to His purpose.
I was always a nervous child. As an adult I developed Inflammatory Bowel Disease. It progressed in my twenties which resulted in many hospital stays. I battled this disorder for years. I experienced many close calls and results of human error, all the while developing a more intense relationship with God. I realize I am a walking miracle; saved from a fatal illness for a specific purpose.
My God’s gifts are discernment and encouragement. I also believe I have a “hotline” to God. These gifts became more apparent to me through my battle with a serious illness. We all have our journeys. We all have our purpose. We all are saved through Christ Jesus. Because of His purpose, His journey we can have eternal life. We can have all our sins erased. We can be cleansed completely by His blood!! John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
The world is changing and His time is near. We must strive to extend love and compassion to all. Our actions are louder than words. You never know who maybe watching you. Who you may influence with your actions. So share your experience, your walk with the Lord as hope for others. GOD BLESS.
Power in the tongue: Submitted by Rebecca Goodell
Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it. Proverbs 18:21
When things are spoken they become more real. God spoke the world into existence. We are taught to speak positive affirmations. Blessings are usually verbal. Vows are verbal. Promises are spoken.
Part of putting on the Armor of God is using God’s word – and His spoken word. Nothing is more powerful than the word of God.
For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced. Matthew 12:37 Hence the urgency to learn how to tame our tongues.
James 3:8….But the human tongue can be tamed by no man. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. Matthew 12:36 But I tell you, on the day of judgement men will have to give account for every idle word they speak. John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life: the flesh conveys no benefit what ever. The words that I have been speaking to your are Spirit and Life.
Be positive in your verbal thoughts; Speaking happier more productive declarations will in turn have positive results. Bless yourself – Speak Life into your life, not death.
Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk come out of your mouth, but only such as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace to those who hear it. Ephesians 4:29
Today as Christians we must have encouraging and happy words for those we encounter. Our words should be filled with hope and reflect our faith in God.
PRAYER – submitted by Rebecca Goodell
P – Praise
R- Repentance
A-Asking
Y- Yes
Praying using God’s Word. God’s love language. God speaks to us through His word. Let us speak to God referencing His word. Prayer renews us. Reading God’s word renews us. Both strengthen us. The closer you are to God the clearer your purpose becomes. The calmer you become.

Four Spiritual Laws – submitted by Rebecca Goodell
Law #1 – God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”
God’s plan : John 10:10 “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” {that it might be full and meaningful}
Law #2 – Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God’s love and plan for his life.
Romans 6:32 “The wages of sin is death” {spiritual separation from God} *there is a ‘way’ to connect to God.
Law #3 – Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through Him you can know and experience God’s love and plan for your life.
Romans 5:8 “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 Corinthians 15:3-6 “Christ died for our sins…He was buried….He was raised on the third day, according to scriptures He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. after that He appeared to more than five hundred….”
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
Law #4 – We must individually receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives.
John 1:12 “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”
Ephesians 2:8,9 “By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works that no one should boast.”
Revelations 3:20 (Christ speaking) “Behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him.”
Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting God to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. WE RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST BY FAITH, IT IS AN ACT OF THE WILL.
You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer. (prayer is talking with God) God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. Below is a suggested prayer to receive Christ.
Lord Jesus, I need You. I acknowledge I am a sinner. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Help me to be the person You want me to be. In Jesus name.
Eternal Life to Believers : 1 John 5:11-13 “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in HIs Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to your who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.
When you receive Christ the following things happen:
Christ came into your Life. – Revelation 3:20, Colossians 1:27
Your sins were forgiven. – Colossians 1:14
You became a child of God. – John 1:12
You received eternal life. – John 5:24
You started God’s plan for you. – 2 Corinthians 5:17. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Faith – submitted by Rebecca Goodell
Without faith it is impossible to please God, ..Hebrews 11:6
What is faith? belief, hope, trust, dedication (faithful – devoted, loyal, steadfast, true, accurate, authentic, believable, credible, reliable, safe, trustworthy)
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved… Acts 16:31
Jesus said, I am the way the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
Trusting, believing, and hoping that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. This is the life force that keeps us going. Knowing that we are safe, that we are saved from eternal damnation because of our FAITH in the one true God. We know and believe that He died as payment for our sins. He was the sacrifice that cleansed us; that SAVED us. BUT you must ask Him to come into your heart and life. You must believe on Him, have faith in Him, and live for Him.
So many people today are empty and are searching for answers; Jesus is the answer to that emptiness and hopelessness they feel. Jesus fills us with the Holy Spirit, Joy and Hope.
Life is worth living because HE LIVES!!!!
