A prison is a condition of confinement and restriction, a state of imprisonment or captivity. A person can spend years in this place held captive, awaiting trial and never seem to have any hope of being set free.
Christians can be in a position sometimes to feel alone, isolated, forgotten and even feel confined and captive as if they are in a prison; for them it is a prison. The mind is struggling to have release, to be free and to escape from such confinement. Their spirit is washed clean but their minds, their thought pattern has to be renewed daily by the Word of God!
Romans 12:2 (kjv) ” And be not conformed to this world. But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that your may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God.
Philippians 4:8 (kjv) Think on these things that are: true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report.
A prison can keep you behind bars for a certain length of time and when there is a legal release nothing or no one can keep you there.
We are reminded in Exodus 14, When Moses and the children of Israel had Pharoah and his army behind them and the Red Sea before them. Sometimes in life we have to realize: We can do one of three things: 1. Surrender 2. Fight 3. Or trust God
So what will we do?? TRUST GOD
I will in all my ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct my path. Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. To lean means to support yourself in your thoughts.
I love the Hebrew meaning of acknowledge “yada” – meaning to be in direct contact (an intimacy of prayer that conceives and births blessings and victories.)
Everyday we have to rely on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord. He will take care of us, direct us, and make our paths plain. He said He would. Do you believe the Maker of the universe? Or do you doubt Him?
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for a hope and a future. These are the plans I have for you says the Lord. “
You know God can not lie . Numbers 23:19 (kjv) “God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of a man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken shall He not make it good?
If God said it we can believe it! We should not be moved by what we see or feel!!
The Lord said He has a hope and a future for me. What could be any better but to have the Almighty leading and guiding us with a future set aside by Him for us!!!
The legal release Jesus has provided for us has brought us relief. The bondage, the weight of life and the heaviness has been taken away. When Jesus died on the cross He gave His life so that the problems we face can be dealt with. We don’t have to feel hopeless, confined and depressed as if there is no way out. That is a type of prison. We don’t have to stay there – we have been given a way out. Jesus is the Way, The Truth and The Life!!! A legal release came when Jesus gave His life for us!!! He redeemed us! He regained possession. We were freed from any distress or anything harmful to us.
A legal release – that is what REDEEMED means.
Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
Christians listen up: You CAN be released from the prison of guilt, shame, depression and other self imposed prisons; the list is long. yet some want to stay there – doesn’t that seem unnatural for you?? Because it is! I Corinthians 3:17 (kjv) Now the Lord is Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.
John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free you are free indeed!!!!! Lets all claim it now – In Jesus name Amen.!!!
